What Is A Board Certified Attorney?

Posted on 28. Jun, 2013 by in Blog

The Texas Board of Legal Specialization awards Board Certification to an attorney who “has substantial, relevant experience in a select field of law as well as demonstrated, and tested, special competence in that area of law.” Lawyers of this caliber are able to describe themselves as specialists in the area of their Board Certification.

According to the State Bar of Texas, as of June of 2013, there are 92,831 active attorneys in Texas. Only 850 are board certified in criminal law. Demetrio Duarte, Jr. is one of the those attorneys who practices throughout Texas and across the country in federal courts.  Of the 5,884 attorneys located in San Antonio, only 62 attorneys who are board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization have offices located in San Antonio. Attorney Demetrio Duarte, Jr. is one of those attorneys with a primary office in San Antonio.

When you or a loved one is faced with a criminal accusation, you should choose an attorney wisely.  Hiring an attorney who has demonstrated and tested special competence is a wise choice. An attorney with special competence should be your voice in the courtroom when the stakes are high. Protecting your freedom deserves having demonstrated competence serving as your voice in the courtroom.

    Dear Mr. Duarte:

I need an attorney to preserve my rights in a probate matter. May I email a summary of the situation?

    Thank you,
